To honour UK pioneers and to settle any pub arguments here is our less than definitive list of the first Passivhaus certified buildings in the UK. For submissions please email The list might be useful for spotting those gaps in the market. For example if you want a ‘first’ you need to build a cavity wall house in Wales, or a heavy industrial building, or for a real challenge how about a hospital?

The PHI Database and date of certification is used to settle any disagreements.
